I'd like to use Bryce to make terrain heightmaps and associated textures. I need the heightmap in the .RAW file format, but that doesn't seem to be a save option - only the .HF format, which I'm not familiar with. Anyone use Bryce for heightmaps? Anyone know how I can get output in .RAW format?

Using USGS topo data is really easy in Bryce. You can import it as a .psd, a .pgm. or raw. I would reccommend converting the raw data to one of the first two file formats. If you have a PC, use 3DEM. If you have a Mac, use MacDEM to import the raw data and export it as a .psd. Then you can work on the data in Photoshop and import it as a picture in the Terrain Editor,
