HEAT reports

Does HEAT v7 contain an embedded version of crystal reports that I have to use?
I have version 9 of Crystal reports on my PC but cannot open the HEAT reports from the installation CD without the error
"Data Object cannot be opened/accessed."
"Details: Can not connect to the datasources or open the database files."

I do have an both an ODBC connection to HEAT and have used the dictionary (dc5) file to create reports but I would like to use existing reports as templates and the "Answer Wizard" to launch them.
