Partner ACS: Has anyone added any sort of heat ventilation or exhaust devie to the older Partner carriers either on teh top or bottom vents. If so what device do you suggest? If not does anyone have a devise they can suggest like a low noise fan?

Thanks. What type of fan? A small box fan that sits on top of the vents or something special that you created?

Dave,

We installed a fan below a partner cabinet one summer. It was a small fan and it had a clip on it to mount it. We put it under the 5 slot carrier to blow the heat up and out(heat rises). The only problem with having a fan blowing on your system all the time is it blows dust and dirt on all of the components inside. In time that collects on the circuit boards and causes more problems. Your best bet is to put the partner in a air conditioned room.

I have a small fan suspended about 3" above the top of the 5 slot carrier on the install that I support. The fan runs on 120 VAC and is a little larger than ones used to cool devices such as PCs.

It might not be a good idea to sit a cooling fan right on top of the carrier. If the fan were to die, it would restrict the flow of heat away from the modules.
