We have a customer that has a MM system in there lab. They have been playing with it after we installed it and now we are getting this error.

User: PRIVDOM\mmacct
Computer: RDGAS110
Description:
An error occurred logging in to the MSS server to provide the MAS heartbeat (error code: 1)

I think it is a password but wondered if anyone had seen this before .

I've had heartbeat problems when I was trying to change the MAS domain name. You can try sending the host information and then adding the MSS to the windows domain again to see if that solves the problem.

I did do that already but still have the error. The one thing i have not done after i did tha is restart the systems but i did not think i had to.

I think you're right on not having to restart after you do that. I guess checking to make sure the passwords on the MAS match the MSS is the other thing to do, but it sounds like you have already done that.

I believe this error occurs when the order of the network interface cards is wrong on the MAS. In your network connection properties, the private connection should be on top, followed by the corporate connection.

Guys, we are having this exact problem on our 3.0 install in-house. Where do you change the order of the NICs on the MAS?

Brian McDonald

I believe in the Network Configuration, but I had upgraded a 2.0 system and started seeing the error and was not able to change the order of the devices. Not sure if something else changed, so if this doesn't work, you may need to go to Avaya.

Well, that's just the Windows Network Management. Devices are sorted by column. How exactly would one change the order of the NICs?

Make sure the Priv is at the top of the list.
