a customer of mine asked if i ever heard of feature that can send a call to an extention from caller id info. for example a call for sally's home number would go to sally's extention with no assistance from auto attends' or any thing else. any ideas thx dennis42

I think its called CNIS routing. Or DNIS. I get them confused.

you need some system to look at the caller ID and decide to route the call ...
that has to be a voicemail or an ACD system ...
"GENERALLY" phone systems cannot do that on their own ...

the norstar also has a private messaging option in the mailbox that will allow the voicemail box to play a private message to someone who calls in from a specific CID number such as "high honey, I'll be home as soon as I get done with the next customer" that plays only when the home phone calls and hits the mailbox.

Hi Jerry could you tell me if thats available on a Nam 4.0 and is there a limit to the number of different incoming numbers and messages you could use for one mailbox. I have wanted something like this but had to set up a mailbox for each number I wanted to personally greet. Thanks Jerry Bob Vancouver Canada

from my NAM 4.0 ref guide. "Up to theree Personalized mailbox greetings can be recorded, but each greeting c an be assigned only to one phone number" By that I can make up PG 1 to be for phone number 2345678910 and PG 2 could be for phone number 2345678920 but the two phone numbers could not hear the same greeting.

the feature is Personalized mailbox greeting andyou get to it from F981 admin greet rec pers or f981 8 2 1 3
