I thought maybe that title would get my post some attention. : ) I have posted this problem twice before with no replies whatsoever. Perhaps no one has come across this problem before, or no one knows an answer. But somewhere there must be someone... surely. Sorry for rehashing this problem several times on this forum but my boss is breathing down my neck and I need a solution...fast!
We have ARCServe 2000 Advanced Edition (SP4) on a Win2000 server. One of our servers being backed up is a Netware 5.11 server which also happens to be our main data server. Anyway, ARCServe gives me the below error message for some of the directories being backed up on this server, others are backed up fine on the same server and volume. We know it is not related to long filenames due to the variety of directories and files having this prob and other files with long filenames being backed up without problems. Also, a test backup backing up only the "trouble" files backed these files up just fine. I have recreated the job several times in case of job corruption and run dbfix on a weekly basis on all databases.
Eror message:
W3404 Unable to open file(File=[path]) EC=Bad Netpath
Any help, pointers, suggestions and I will be eternally grateful and in your debt. : ) Edmée de Klerk
