So I found a few posts about amplified and non amplified headsets for these model phones we have. It seems the T series have issues with them, but I didn't find anything about the M series.

I found some T100 headsets (non amplified) and they are a bargain against what we usually get: Plantronics S12. The plantronic headsets we have are starting to die on us, may be from age, not sure since I haven't been here for over 2 years.

Does anyone have any experiences with the non amplified T100 headsets that plug directly into these phones? Can the microphone and speaker volume be controlled on these? Sometimes the people we talk to say they can't hear us with the S12's so we have to turn them up since they're amplified.

My boss is just wondering if there is an alternative to having to keep buying these $120 S12 headsets.

The Plantronics POLARIS series headsets were designed with the Norstar & Meridian in mind. Numbers like P31, P51, etc. or their descendants will work just fine with the U10P cord that plugs into the jack on the bottom of the set with the headset symbol. No separate amplifier is needed. You use the volume control on the phone.

If you need a source for Plantronics headsets, check out headsetsdirect.com. I have had good luck with them.
