Anyone have any recommendations for a wireless (preferably), or wired headset that might give our operator a bit more mobility rather than using a standard handset (which is plugging in using the modular plug / socket in the two-prong adapter.)

I am currently attempting to use a wireless Plantronics Voyager 510S, but for some reason having trouble getting it to work on the console (but have no problem using the same Plantronics equipment on desktop phones.)

I agree . . . aside from that though, she needs a bit of mobility while at the switchboard . . . was not sure if anyone had come across a particular solution that maybe I was unaware of.

Even if the headset could answer the console, how would she transfer the call????? You could get rid of the console and use a Nortel portable phone that programs as a 2616 and you could have multi lines and do tranfers. I think it a 3050CT

I'd call Plantronics, they are very familiar with what works on what. They are also very responsive to callers.

As for wired vs. wireless, I'd have to agree that mobility has little benefit since the only time you can operate the console is when you are within reach of it.

Ace makes a good point, you could define your "Night number that applies to business day hours as a line on one of these:
Then if the attendant needs to step away, they can still take calls...to a point.
