Currently I have a mix of 240 ETJ and DTP series digital, and 17 ITR series phones in the field. Users supply their own headsets, and as far as I know the few using them use the Plantronics (M10/M12) corded or (CS-50 w/HS lifter) cordless models attached inline with the handset cord. Looking toward the SV9500 upgrade, I'm about to deploy 16 ITZ-12DG-3 phones into a bullpen office, and was looking for info about Bluetooth options. I found NEC's release notes on the Plantronics EHS for DT series terminals, and apparently the EHS can not be used with FKY 125 on a softkey, it has to be on a feature key. Of course we have the HSET softkey programmed for our DTP/ITR models, even though I don't think any one is using it.
I've found mention in the phone's brochures of a BCA-Z that NEC has that connects to the ITZ, but searching the BCA-Z unit itself it looks like it pairs with a user's cell phone as the host although one vendor claims "Provides interface for user-provided Bluetooth cordless headset. Most cordless Bluetooth headsets are supported" inferring the ITZ phone is the host. That would seem ideal; choose a BT headset, then turn it on and off with the already programmed softkey.
So I'm looking for my options. Globally deprogram the softkey to use EHS units, or?
Thanks for any insight!
