Easy question for this board. How do you program a plantronic headset on a 7406 phone? I've only done it on 6408 w/ a headset button, but it says I can't use that button on a 7406.

I'm on a G3si.

You can't program that button on that phone. A headset button will only work on at 6400 series phones. You will just take the handset off hook to use the headset.

Consider buying an Avaya 8400 SOTA, rather than a Plantronics M12 adapter. The 8400 SOTA connects to the Aux jack on the bottom of the phone and the user does not have to lift the handset to make or disconnect a call.

Lame?

Dude that phone technology has got to be like 10-12 years old. I'm guessing avaya does not even support that phone anymore. Thats like getting pissed because your sony cassette walkman won't play MP3s!

you can buy 6408s on ebay for $50 each. Atleast then you'd be in 90's technology.

Easy now. I know it's old and blows. As is our 13 year old PBX. 90% of our phones are 6408's, but I was just wondering how to put one on some of our left over 7406's.

going cisco ip soon anyhow.

peters888 - just messing with you :)

Good luck with cisco IP. I had the unfortuante opportunity to bring it on-line at my last job.
