Good morning. In order to connect a headset to a Partner M12 phone does it always require the need for a Partner Base Unit ?

Can a "Y" cable with a toggle switch be installed which would connect the headset and the handset directly to the phone set without using the Partner Base Unit ?

As always many thanks to all for your responses.

Lou

Yeah, but....

you would need to lift the handset off the cradle to connect to a call, and put it back in the cradle to disconnect.

Thanks for the response. Any idea what manufacturer has these "Y" cables ?

It wouldn't be a simple Y-adapter, you'd still need a base with the electronics to drive the headset, and an A/B switch to select either handset or headset.

The difference is the connection through the handset jack instead of the AUX port.

Search for Plantronics, or visit Hello Direct.
