Headphone sound not working correctly

All, I have a logitech Clearchat Pro USB headset, worked fine in Vista. Upgraded to Windows 7, not beta. Now, after a reboot sound works through headset for less than a minute then just quits. this is without regard for the application, it can be itunes, media player, youtube video, ect. When I unplug the headset, speakers work just fine. Plug headset back in without a reboot, no sound. Reboot, and it works again for a few seconds.

Logitech says a microsoft update was released last week that should have fixed it. I've applied all updates, still no luck.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you track down which update is applicable, uninstall it and reinstall it?

Maybe you can download the update from this site and save it and manually install it.

Upgraded - over Vista or a clean install?

have you updated the ChipSet drivers, then the Audio drivers?
