Is there any way to recalculate fields inserted in header after the detail section has been calculated - I mean - if I would like to insert in header information about the number of records in details sections I need a way to calculate it at the end - when I'm just putting it in the report it always equals zero...

Does anyone know any way to recalculate header values at the end of report generation - or maybe there's another way to do this?

Summary totals take their value from the data, and can be used in a group header. Running totals 'run' as the report is formatted, and so have no value i the group header.

Right-click on a field and choose Insert to get a choice of Running Total or Summary.

Does this help? If not, please say more specifically what you are trying to do, and why it has to be in the header rather than the footer. It helps to give your Crystal version, since newer versions have extra options, and some extra problems.

If you are using CR9 or later then you can obtain a count of teh records used in your report bu usimg a SQL Expression field

Create a new SQL Expressiona and enter the SQL required to produce the count i.e.

(SELECT Count(`MyTable`.`TableID`) FROM `MyTable`)

This field can tehn be used anywhere in the report to display the record count.
