header disappeared after right float 2

The header background color, border and format disappeared, but I can't find the issue.

This is still rough, but the correct header appearance would be:

What am I missing??

1. There is no background in the logo area, because you have two closing curly braces at the end of the select element declaration. The second closing curly brace (}) is too much and it throws the rest of the styling off.

2. You have no background on the buttons because your CSS is looking for the background image in the "images" subfolder of the folder "New" (the current folder the page is in). However, the images folder does not reside in the New folder but in its parent folder. Switching the CSS to read url(../images/shortbutton.jpg) helps. There is no need for the quotes around the URL.

3. You still have three elements with the id of wrapper. This is illegal, since every id on the page has to be unique. Either change the wrapper to be a class rather than id (styles of elements that repeat many times on the page should be defined via classes and elements that will appear only once can be styled via id) or use only one wrapper (this is preferred method).

Auto Dope Slap.

I knew it. I knew it was something monumentally small and stupid, and I can't proof read for squat. Hours I spent looking. I looked for duplicates, validated with that in mind, etc. I get the buttons..but haven't got that far yet. Thanks for the heads up.

You are both great, and I need a keeper. Thanks loads. It happened when I cut and paste something, and obviously the second } got left behind. But I swear I looked.

I realized after I put the page up that this it was in a temporary folder - the buttons worked on my desktop. Here, then, it is for the moment.

Thank you both again. Aside from some design issues and the odd behavior of the list elements in IE, I am at least satisfied. I will fool around and get fancy later.

All that was cut and paste stuff, and I looked forever. Finding definitely takes all the time.
