We have a CRM app that we have ported to AJAX and everything is great. The only issue is that loading email content (unpredictable external email from 'x' different clients) contains header CSS styles which [in FF and Chrome] override styles in the app.

We have two options at the moment which are processing each email and converting head styles to inline, or giving any head style unique names (unique from our app). Any ideas how to just stop the page picking up the styles?

Thanks

If it is just a few styles, you could add !important to them in your stylesheet. That should thwart any attempts from additional sheets to override your styles. Also, you could try increasing the specificity of your declarations -- making sure your specificity is higher than the one from the external emails.

The best option I would say, is still to parse out any styling from the external email.
