Is there a utility, Windows or Dos Based that I can use to detect the data transfer rate of my HDD? I am installing a SCSI Maxtor 143.6GB HDD into a Storcase removable and want to make test the data transfer rate comming through the removable kit.

For every problem there is a solution, for every solution there is a tech behind it.

Thanks SkipCox, I just read and downloaded this Aida32 software. I have never used it. What are your experiences with it? Thanks again.

It's normally used to identify the gear in your pc, kinda like Sisoft Sandra. I happened across the disk benchmarking utilities while looking around the program. I liked the read only function (non destructive) and although 3 of the 4 benchmarks run for three minutes, I was also attracted to the thirty min Linear Read test.

My hdd has an 8Mb cache and I hoped a longer test would give me better overall answer.
