I have been having some on going (major) problems with a BCM after doing a 3.6 – 3.7 upgrade. I got Nortel involved to sort out the problem, they manage to fix it but the fault happens again after a couple of days, and they are not really very helpful on giving me any solutions on permanently fixing it. So, what I want to do is to swap the 3.6-3.7 upgraded HDD for a new 3.7HDD and hope this will cure the problems.

Am I right in saying, if I backup everything from HDD ‘a’ I’d be able to restore it on HDD ‘b’? If so is there anything I am to look out for?

Thanks

What are the problems you're experiencing?

I would recommend just restoring your voice applications (voicemail). Put in the new HD, provided it's the same release you won't need to run a universal profile. Set your IP address, reinstall keycodes, restore voicemail, and you should be all set.

The problems I am having is with Call Centre Reporting. The tool that pulls off the call data from the BCM started at 1st Jan 1970 took 2.5weeks and crashed. Nortel connected to the webhost PC and fixed it but after about 2days it keeps crashing and wont let you view realtime reports or historical… They are also getting dial out problems, as in they are unable to dial 118, 0870 and 0845 number. I thought this was a network problem but they’ve assured me that it isn’t and they were able to dial these numbers before the upgrade. The only fix I can see it to install a new HDD but I don’t want to restore any corrupt data onto the new HDD.
