Hi to whoever reads this....
I've got an HD which has crashed (30Gb) losing a lot of useful stuff (although I did have most essential stuff backed-up).
When I've experienced disk crashes in the past, the disks haven't spun up, but they still get detected in the computer BIOS. However, this one isn't even detected in the BIOS and manually setting the number of platters etc. causes the BIOS to throw a tantrum.
Do Hard Drives have fuses in them - could that be the problem? I'm really not happy about opening it up in case of dust contamination to find out. Any suggestions?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
