Ok Guru's. I have a question about dual port HBA'S VS single port. Our san Guy seems to believe that having dual portted HBA's that go to the disk and tape san is fine. Infact, the vendor (QLOGIC) says "Yeah allot of people do this). My issue is I would rather have dual port to the data disk and a singlr hba to tape.

Any thoughts on this Topic?

The only issue I have with dual ports - 1 to tape and 1 to disk is bus saturation.

I like the 2 dual port HBA idea then 2 to disk and 1 to tape and 1 for failover.
