I installed 2 2Gb HBA fibre cards on my Solaris server.

When I rebooted the system, I got "FDDI driver not active" & "Initialization of this driver cannot be completed".

When I ran the prtdiag, I saw the 2 cards, but it appears the system is still not ecognizing it.
SAN shark is not seeing it as well.

Any help is apreciated.

Thanks
Sanmi

I did a touch /reconfigure & then a reboot.

I did not do boot -r because I couldn't get to the console ( We usa Alom & it's a little flaky at the moment).

I took out the packaghe & reinstalled
This was the initial message & the same message I got after package install

## Executing postinstall script.
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: qla2300
Warning: Driver (qla2300) successfully added to system but failed to attach
## Executing drvconfig utility.

Installation of <QLA2300> was successful.

EXAMPLE: If using Solaris 8

Download Storage-Tek SAN 4.4 from the Sun's download site.
Solaris 8 SFS
install_it 4.4.11

The install_it will install all the packages and patches
see the READMES.

tuka,

Thank you so much. The installation of the Storage-Tek SAN fixed my problem.
The very 1st server that I did this on did not requite the storeage tek but I found out that Qlogic & Sun both make HBA cards named qlogic, so that explains why this Storage-Tek SAN was needed.
I appreciate it.

Thanks,
Sanmi
