I'm using CS3. I'd like to make a linear gradient going from white/paper/0% PMS 4545 (gold color) to about 50% of the PMS color. I can't figure out how to do a tint when I create a gradient.

Any ideas?

...select the spot color in the swatches palette, choose the flyout menu, select "new tint swatch"...

...make it 50%, click OK...

...select the object that needs the gradient, get the gradient palette open and choose linear, drag your tint spot and the white paper color onto the gradient palette to get the gradient you need...

...you can also drag the created gradient to the swatches palette for use elsewhere and also edit the gradient by double clicking the gradient swatch in the swatches palette, this is a global change to any elements that use that gradient swatch...

...to make clearer, when i say "you can also drag the created gradient to the swatches palette for use elsewhere", i mean from the gradient palette (the big square area that shows the gradient, top left of that palette) to the swatches palette...

...or you can drag it from the fill icon of the tool bar or the fill icon top left of the swatches palette...
