Having trouble deleting history in IE 6 1

Hi

I keep trying to delete history in IE6

I am doing the right thing i think: tools > internet options > clear history > and I make sure that the history is set to keep pages for zero days.

I even close the browser after I have done that and re-open it but history is still there

What am i doing wrong?

Try this. Start >> Restart computer in MS DOs

Type in the following, hitting Enter after each line:

cd\windows (if necessary)

smartdrv

deltree cookies
deltree history
deltree tempor~1
exit

This'lll not only clean out your history, but also your cookies, and temporary internet files.

how do I start a computer in msdos?

Start menu, select Shut Down...
Restart in MS DOs is one of your options.
