Hello,

I have been attempting to create a DLL but have not been able to view them in Crystal Reports. I followed Crystal Decisions on-line step-by step instructions 'Creating a User Defined Function in Microsoft Visual Basic' with no apparent troubles. When I opened a report and went to create a formula, in the Functions column under AdditionalFunctions, I should be able to see the newly created functions. But they are never there. Now, the dll was named CRUFLxxx.dll and I am using Crystal Reports professional Edition and located the User Function Library U2lcom.dll so I should be able to expose my newly created functions. I registered the DLL in the registry and it was successful. Use Windows 2000. I would like to get this going - Does anyone know what else I can do, or a site with additional information?

Majordog,

The VB project must start with the letters "CRUFL".

Also, make sure that the statement in VB where you create the function, that it is specified as a Public function.

If neither of these work, let me know. I have only done this about 3 times and I always used george Peck's book as a guideline, and I am 3 for 3. Software Sales, Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Hey dgillz,
As it happens, the DDL was created. I could not view the functions immediately after creation though, because I have to log off and then re-log in so the new DDL could be read and update the appropriate dependencies. So, success! Details, details, thanks for your response.
