I am trying to add a second interface to my server. I have the correct file configuration in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts directory, but when I do a "./ifup eth1" in the shell, it says "Delaying initilization of eth1". What the Hell?! It says the same thing when it trys to bring up the interface at boot-time. The card is the same type that I use for eth0(3com). Please Help......

I've had the same problem, and I used 2 different cards and it worked. I don't know if there's a workaround for this, but I used a 3com and then another card and it worked fine, but I couldn't get it to work with jsut one. You can also try disabling PNP on them to hard-code the IO stuff on them, but this usually involves booting to a dos disk, and using a manufacturers disk to set the stuff, then booting up in linux to specify the IO and DMA of the 2 cards. This may allow it to differentiate, but it's a lot of work.

MWB. As always, I hope that helped!
