Having problems with my home printer - 4050TN !!!!! Help

I cant get my 4050TN printer to work correctly. It prints 10-15 pages of jargon when I try to print a test page. Im running Windows 2000 Professional. Reset to factory settings. Downloaded latest driver. Checked cable's connected correctly. Changed Bios Parallel port settings from ECP to EPP and back again. No Difference!

Funny thing was it was working fine one day, the next it started doing this.

I'm going to see if its the same while connected to my laptop but its a test I am yet to do.

Looked on HP site - couldnt find any documents to really help me.

Any ideas? Its really bugging me now.

I also suggest completely removing it from your system, including all drivers and utility software. Then boot WITHOUT the printer. Then readd the printer according to the installation instructions.

Does the printer print junk when disconnected from the network/PC?
