I've spent well over 6 hours now trying to figure this out...

Okay, I installed Apache 2.0, and the installation went fine. I can view the "Test Page for Apache Installation" page using my IP. However, others cannot. They get a Gateway Timeout message. I get this message when starting apache (I used print screen)

I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. Can anyone help me?

Hi mate,

I'm a little confused as to why you can see the test page when Apache shouldn't even be running.

Do you have IIS installed? Do you have any other software that listens on port 80? Kazaa is one that I know of that listens on this port if it is available.

Try shutting down all applications that you can, then try Apache again.

If all else fails, post your httpd.conf here and we can see if the error is in that.

Hope this helps Wullie

It is working now. I had KaZaA on port 80. Its not now. :)

Anyway...so. Are there any (easy!) guides on setting up php and mySQL with apache?
