having problem adding new row in a data grid

i have a master/detail form. im using data grid for the details of my form. i also have an add button that will add a new record to my master/detail form. i have 1 ado data control, im using shape..append command for the recordsource of the adodc, which relates the Sales & SalesDetails table. the Onclick event of the add button is: adodc.recordset.addnew, my problem is when i click the add button, i can't add a new record in the data grid.
