I am having quite a bit of trouble learning/understanding Flash 5. One thing that is confusing me is that the timeline the developer used on our Intranet files is not the one I learned in a class or see in a book. The one he used looks like an up and down thermometer and it has 8 kb, 4 kb, 2 kb, 1 kb and 200 b. It doesn't say layer anywhere and it's vertical, not horizontal. To the left, it says Movie, Dim, Fr Rate, Size, Duration, Preload, Bandwidth, etc. I am supposed to edit our Intranet files. However, I am finding I don't know how he made the swf files or how to edit them. I do not honestly remember any of this from class or in the book I bought. Several of the pages have graphics where the color changes when you mouseover the graphic. You can click on part of the graphic and go to a web page. Some of the hyperlinks are now wrong and I want to change them, but need help to figure out how to do that. I would appreciate any help on this.

This is normal. You are viewing the swf. If you are hoping to edit the original content, you will need the fla files.

What happens if there are no .fla files in the directories? The only files I can locate are .swf files. Maybe that's why I am having such a hard time. The only files in the Intranet directories are .asp .htm .swf and .jpg.

Yes, those are the files that should be on the server. They are the final files that the public sees.

Try to get the working files from the original developer.
