Hi,

is it possible to put 2 routers on the same switch? does 1 of them need to be in the gateway mode and the other non router function need to be in router mode? the setup is modem, router, switch then another router that is to be used to distribute the wireless signal. That last router is currently not working. for the cable that goes fromthe switch to the next non router route which port does it go in? is it in the wan port or one of the regular 4 ports?

thanks for your help.

Yes, you can put 2 routers on a network provided they are configured properly for the applications needed. The wireless router that you want to use as a WAP (Wireless Access Point) needs to be configured as such. You will use one on the LAN ports of the WAP to connect to a port on your switch. The WAP then becomes a device on the LAN.

You did not mention the models of the routers. Some documentation has a section on how to configure the router as a WAP. You might check yours. If not, post the model of the wireless router so I can provide the info. Most of them use the same type of config., but there may be differences.
