Here's something that brightened my day and I want to share it with you. Some of you, of course, will take delight only in my simple delight (already knowing what I'm about to tell you). Others may learn what I just discovered. I develop the Access reports and utilities for the end users in our company. Relatively knew with Access and am learning on the fly, Tek-Tips Forum being a primary resource.

I frequently will "Compact and Repair Databases..." when I've been working on something, just to tidy things up. Since there is a Form configured to open on Startup, that's what happens after the utility runs. I tried holding down the shift key while selecting "Compact and Repair..." and discovered the startup is not executed, same as when opening the file. :)

Nice find. Have a star.

Are there any easter eggs in Office 2003?

Ed Metcalfe.

I guess that site hasn't been updated for Access 2003 yet. I tried the magic 8 ball trick in 2003, but it didn't work. If you navigate around that site, you can also find easter eggs for movies.

I've been told that Excel has a basic flight simulator in it (maybe its just the older versions). I've never confirmed that, though.

Yes, I've heard of that Excel easter egg. Not sure if it's in the 2003 version though.

Actually played with it a few times in Excel 97, was interesting - was never able to bring it up in 2K or later...
