I have problem with “drag & drop” and “cut & paste” function on my XP Pro desktop comp.
Try to find solution on Google , but failed. If like to transfer any kind of files or shortcuts from my Desktop to some of folders previously created , after drag and drop or cut and paste, this file or shortcut becomes unreadable, and I am receiving message “Access denied”
If try to delete them, it’s impossible to do this – only I can delete these files using Unlocker.
My comp is fully updated .This new comp is connected with one older machine through KM switch – on this old one I have no problems like this.
Sharing between two machines is active.
To make this puzzle more complex , if create let say New Folder on my Desktop a/m functions works O.K. at on the end if I like to transfer any new file or shortcut to some of previously created folders on my Desktop, I can do it by Copy-Paste.
If anyone can assist me to solve this problem, help me please.

Where is the folder located that you are cut/pasting to? (example: c:\data or My Documents)
Can you try something simple like create a new text file on your desktop and try to move it to the folder?

Have you done any kind of malware scans? See this thread for suggestions:

I thought our little wild time had just begun.

Location of files, shortcuts and folders are on my Desktop.
As stated in my above post, when create "New Folder" on Desktop, problematic functions as ( Drug & Drop or Copy-Paste) works normally.
Comp should be clean, I scan comp with all these anti-malware programs from time to time regularly.
Also , when create a new text file on Desktop, after Drug and Drop , or Cut and Paste it to any of previously created folders located on my Desktop- this file becomes unreadable with changed icon and can't be deleted without help of Unlocker program.
When try to open it- "Access Denied" appears.

Try memory test (memtest86+) and manufacturer's hard drive test just to see if you have a hardware-based problem.

Saying the computer "should" be clean is not the same as it being clean, but we'll worry about that later.

I thought our little wild time had just begun.

Problem sorted in this way:
- C:/Tools/Folder Options/View unchecked ”Use simple file sharing (Recommended)
-In C: Properties /Security/Advanced/Owner -in empty field entered my name as user an press O.K.
Very simple solution, hope will be useful to someone
