I have one form that has many tabs. I need to create a new tab that is contact person information. However, i want the info to come from a seperate table than from the other infomation that is displayed on the other tabs. But, when i click on the table button at the top, to drag the fields down into form, there is only the info from the main table??!! I Presume this has a very simple answer, and i am being thick! I dont want to use sub-forms though, can i do so without using sub forms? And - it is in 97 version!

In need of help yet again?!

Matt

Hi Matt,
You could do this without subforms by joining your tables together in a query, then setting the forms record source to that query. The problem with this depending on your databases' structure, example... One customer has many contacts. You need a table for customers and another for contacts. The contact table has a key to the customers table. When you choose "CustomerA", you want to see "ContactsForCustomerA" . By joining tables in a query you will get some odd results without a fair amount of work. Sincerely, your best choice would be to create a subform based on your "contacts" table. Open your main form in design view and with the wizard button (wand & stars) depressed, click subform/subreport and on the tab page you want, drag out the shape of your subform. The wiz should do the rest for you! Good luck, Gord

HAd a quick go at it, but the subform is so long, it just does look good on the form. But it i will have a play around with it over the weekend to see what i can produce. I am aiming to get it compete or near to complete over the weekend. As you are being of such great assistance, would it be possible to emial you direct should i have any problems? Or would you prefer me to post my queries as i am currently doing?

Kind regards

Matt
