Our Current Settings:

Share a T1 line with an office in the building, they provide the gateway and T1 to us. The line comes down through the walls. We have two servers connected to the network, one which is our primary domain and the other as storage device. These two servers plug into the wall on two separate RJ-45 ports and my assumption is that they or at least one have a connection to a switch in the rear of the office building and provide access to the 15 machines we have on our network. I have taken a Netgear MR814 Wireless Router and hooked it up to one of the wires coming from the wall port. The first line coming from the wall plugs directly into the main server, while the second line coming from the wall is plugged into the WAN port on the back of the router and port 1 on the router plugs into a Netgear hub. I have configured the Wireless router to have an IP address of 192.168.1.2, since the main server is 192.168.1.1. The subnet mask and DNS for the router match all of the information on all of my other machines. I may have configured it wrong, but it all appears fine to me. I have implemented the DHCP service and gave it an IP range that does not conflict with any of the devices on the existing network. My existing network consists of the default gateway that is provided by the ISP in the same building, and our main server, with a subnet mask setting. We use two DNS servers one as primary and the other as backup. I can get my laptop to connect to the wireless network giving me access to the internet but not to the domain or company files. I run an ipconfig/all to get my results and notice I have a proper IP (one that falls into the ranges assigned to our network), a correct subnet mask (matches all the other devices), but the DNS server listed is the address of the router, as is the same for the DHCP server. Default gateway is also the same of the router address. When you go to the configure utility on the wireless router you see that the DNS servers are assigned manually and match those of the rest of the network. The static IP addresses assigned in the wireless router utility matches those of the machine the router resides on; well the previous configuration as Netgear switches it to Dynamic after the install. So I have internet access on the wireless machines but can not access the company files that reside on the main server. Any ideas as to why I can not access the rest of the network? Have I configured the router properly?
Thanks in advance.

. disable DHCP on the Netgear router
. do not use the WAN port
. You need only one connection: from a regular LAN port on the Netgear to your existing switch.

Yep. You don't need the router functions. You only need the access port functions.

thanks guys, you were right, and it configured once I took the WAN port out. Thanks again!
