Have a Gigabyte motherboard, GA-6WMM7, with onboard video that has been fading in and out for past few months. Installed extra RAM the other day and when I went to turn PC back on, PC wouldn't communicate with monitor. Tested with 2 other monitors and same thing - onboard video seems to be dead. Had thought the fading over last months was monitor on its way out but now think it may have been o/b video.

When PC is turned on it boots with its normal single beep sound; motherboard lights up but no video. Tried to install another video card and it won't recognize it.

Have installed heaps of RAM before on different PCs without these dramas. Is this just bad luck/timing or did I do something wrong?

Have tried to download motherboard manual but can only find one in chinese!! Can't access BIOS settings without video. What would I need to do to get the new video card working?

Tnx for that smah.

I got the manuals. According to documentation there are no jumper settings to enable PCI video. The settings can definitely only be changed in the BIOS.

Spoke with Gigabyte who referred me to a local repairer. When I asked what needed to be done they mumbled something about overriding the BIOS but repairer wanted A$190 to do it. (I can buy a rplacement m/b for half of this!!) They wouldn't offer me any further info and I don't want to pay someone to do what I can do myself.

I just need to know how to override the BIOS!
