Have a 2 pc network running on Win 98SE, one brings in the broadband the other hangs of it with network card and crossover cable.
I want to add my laptop, which is currently on XP to the same network, but dont want to take my existing pc's to XP.
If anyone can point me to a "how to using 98Se as main O/S on existing pcs then add a XP laptop" would be very grateful.
The 2 pc's that hang of the Client work fine independently, however I can only have one running the internet at anyone time (have to keep changing the leads from pc to laptop) I think the problem is the client pc recognising the second NIC Network adapter. I have set it up in the same way as I did the first network adapter, it see's it in network neighbourhood but only has "shared" next to the 1st network card and "home" next to the original.
As I am moving to the USA soon I do not really want to buy a switch or a router or a hub, all my pennies went on buying the laptop so an easy peer to peer network would be the best choice for me at the moment.
Any help would be appreciated.
