Have a customer that has 2 sites(Both Merlin Magix 4.0) that are connected via fiber and RAD t1 modems. Sites are already setup to call back and forth via extension #'s. 3 employee's are moving from site A that has their 3 copper lines on an interm basis and would like to still make and receive their calls when they move to site B. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't have the Network Reference document for the Legend, you can download it for free from support.avaya.com. This is applicable to the Magix also. It covers all the networking for the Legend/Magix switches. Some of that subject matter has been covered on past threads, you might want to search it out in this forum.

Sorry about replying to such an old post, but I've been out of town for two weeks.

The business about fiber and RAD CSUs is all good and well. Great stuff...great solution. It WORKS.

But don't get blindsided by the bells and whistles. The real "problem" here is that you need to maintain a Uniform Dial Plan. What that means in simple terms is that one site's extensions begin with 1, 2, 3 or whatever, while the opposing site's extension start with something else. If you're an IT guy, then think of it like IP routing: we don't want to have the same "addresses" on both sides of the network.

My guess is that your challenge is to have Guy A move to Site B and keep his/her existing extension. That CAN still happen if you're willing to have a convoluted UDP routing table (that's where the IP guys begin to go insane with this stuff...we cheat).

If you've got the inclination to post more detail about what's going on, I'll be happy to give you the direction you need to make it happen.
