Hello, this is my first Thread.

I did the search and found nothing about this.

I'm a user of AutoCAD 2002, and I would like to know how to change the hach dimensions in a hatch that already exist without having to make it from the begining. I mean, if I only want to change two lines in the hatch do I have to define the area again?

Thanks

J.C.

Hi,

It's very simple - when you create/draw some hatch in, there is an option at the bottom of the main hatch dialog box that you can turn to either Associative or Nonassociative..
Turn it to Associative before you finish the command. This will associate the hatch with the boundary it's drawn in - so if you alter/stretch the boundary, the hatch will fill the new shape..

The only problem is that you cannot add associativity to hatch that's already been created - bummer!

I hope this helps..

So there's no way to change the hatch dimensions in a hatch that's already been created without the Associative option?

Hi,

Are you taking about changing the scale and rotation of the hatch once it's been created?

If so, you can use the HATCHEDIT command (or Modify >> Object >> Hatch menu)..

Here you can change the scale, rotation and even the style of hatch to suit what you need. If you wnat to use the same values as a previously drawn hatch object in your drawing, you can use the Inherit Properties to copy the values across..

I hope that this is what you are after!!??!!??

As a further note, as you're using 2002 - To do any edit commands on polylines, hatch, text, etc. you can double-click the object in quetsion, which is quick and more handy than looking through the menus or buttons. Note: you need to turn on the DBLCLKEDIT command..

Cheers,
