Has data changed

I have a program that is accessing a SQL database. Open the program, open the record. Now if you try to exit or move to a different screen the is a sub that checks if the data has changed. It works fine in VB, compiled or not. But once I make a cab file and install it on another machine it does not work. If you do not change anything it still says you did. I don't know if this makes sense but if it does, help, please.

This could be a matter of diffrences in the version of MDAC installed on the client machine and yours.
