Yeah, I know about the practice tests and such. Just wondering what the ACTUAL test is like though.
And for hte books, actually QUE publications has a GREAT prep book for the asp.net exam thats MUCH more detailed than the MS series (although they're good, but aren't really at any deep level)
I bought a whole bookshelf of books when prepping (for 305, 306, 316, and 300), but I didn't try QUE. I don't think it was out when I first started looking. I did buy some other publishers though, but when taking the live exam, I found that much of the needed info was in my MS Press books. I agree that none of them are very comprehensive, but they are written by MS and often times present MS's recommended way of doing something (which might be different for some other publishers).
With each of the books I bought, I found a lot of topics that I NEVER saw on the live exam. (i.e. I spent time studying on some things that I didn't really need.) For each of my exams, the STS practice test was the best representative sample of the topics that were on the LIVE exam. (And they weren't the only prep product that I purchased.)
I know everybody preps differently, but if I had it to do over again, my approach would be: Buy and take the STS practice test to determine which objectives I needed to focus the most study on and which topics were important...then, buy only one or two books that provide the most info for those topics and STS.
