I have several Optisets that have been installed for several months. Today, a capital 'A' with a line above the 'A' appeared in the lower right side of the display window. Each phone with the 'A' also has broken dial tone (no voicemails). Has anyone seen this issue or any ideas what may be causing it. Thanks!

Hi,
What system is it and what version.
If it is a HiPath 4000 then please

I thought it was a character in the DISPLOGO but it is not.
From memory it could be coming from the HiPath SLMO card.
Can you move the phone to another SLMO card to see if the fault follows it.
Or make a listing of the phones that it is on and check to see what card they are on.

Thanks for the response. I did find out that that A/ appears on the phone when an acoustic adaptor is plugged into the phone for a headset, but these phones don't have an acoustic adaptor or a headset! And it doesn't explain the broken dial-tone. The A/ appeared about 2 days ago on 10 or 12 existing phones and none of them live on on the same slmo card. I'll try moving one to see if the issue follows.

The broken dial tone could be a forwarding or do not disturb (DND) has been activated on them.
If you DIS-ACTDA for the extension it will show what features are active on that phone which may assist in finding out the problem.

I did some research on this yesterday and could not find an answer. My first move would be to check ACTDA as above. Does the phone have any kind of modules in the bays underneath? I've never seen that before and I have used analog modules under the phone - but one thought may have been the attached device was in use...
