Has anyone run an M2250 console from a Fiber Remote?

I have a CS1000M-MG (formerly option 81C), on 7.65. I have a group of people moving to a remote building, served by a Fiber Remote IPE cabinet.

They want to move two M2250 consoles to the area served by the Fiber Remote. I built the TNs on the FR, and moved a console to that location to test, and it works, but there is a sporadic static popping sound that can be heard by both parties.

I tried different consoles, and different TNs on both cabinets, and the sound is consistent. Digital phones function fine on the remote, and I can't find or think of any reason why the console shouldn't work.

I'm trying to find out if anyone has successfully extended a 2250 over a Fiber Remote.

Thanks.

I cant say that I have ever done it. Have you programmed and connected the Power TN's ?

Yes, and I get the popping noise no matter whether I'm using just the two console TNs, with one power TN, or with two power TNs. I thought it might be a weak power supply on the main cabinet, so I rebuilt the whole shebang on the second cabinet. Same outcome.

There is actually supposed to be 3 Power TN's, not saying that is the problem though.

The R/O pair gets the 2 tips
The R/G pair gets the 2 rings

And I believe the W/SL is the 3rd power TN wired straight.

Per the NTP

W/SL is the 3rd power TN and is required, however, no one ever does this. But it may be worth a shot in your scenario.

Yeah, that's the direction my thinking is heading. I'm reading through the 2250 installation NTPs now, and I think the 3rd PWR TN will be my next stop.

There's also a reference to a 15 VDC output on the FR wall cabinet. I think it's for the BLF module, which I don't have, but I'm trying to find out more on that, as well.

The 2250 can have an external 16 VDC power supply for back light and BLF but is not required.

Substituting the W/Sl ASM power TN for one of the others did the trick. Console works, and is "pin drop" quiet and clear.
