I am currently upgrading a Legato UNIX server. Is there a easy way of moving indexes and files from the /nsr directory to the new server without the old licenses?

Thanks for your replies!

Hi,

With NetWorker 7, it will probably be easier as the res files are broken up.. In earlier versions, the easiest way is probably just to move everything, and then just delete the licenses. It may not let you delete the base enabler online, so with NetWorker shutdown, use nsradmin -f /nsr/res/nsr.res to delete the licenses.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I will try that. As a side note, I am running Legato 6.1.1.

In NetWorker 6.x and 7.x, you can simply tar up the /nsr/index and /nsr/res and the copy it to the new server.

You cannot do this with the media database. For this, you need to backup and then recover the bootstrap.
