Has anyone ATTEMPTED simple VB to GP Inventory

I am just wondering if anyone has tried to develop simple VB to update inventory transactions in Great Plains?

I have a small company who may not be able to afford something like Radio Beacon to update its inventory via scanners, but they do want to get into the scanner environment.

I am simply trying to research if anyone has tried to do some scanner interfaces into GP inventory the CHEAPO way.

I developed an asset tracking program for a Symbol scanner then saved it to a text file. The client then run the Integration Mgr every other week to update the location of their items. Since they got Project Series for 100 users, we only charge them for the scanners and the software.

Another way is creating a macro then use Import or IM.
