Hi

I managed to archive some files to a CD awhile ago but now when I go to read them the CD shows no files even though I know they are there!

There is also another incident of trying to read them back and it comes up with an 8200 error.

Does anybody have a foolproof way of writing archives to CD and then reading them back ?

I am using GWise 6 backend and client.

Thanks

I didn't try archiving to a cd but we do it to an external HD.
All you have to do is change the path to your archive root) usually looks like fydjfjdjfjd)
Go one level above the archive folder and it should work.

Are you trying to use the CD as an Archive location in GW? If so, this will not work - GW needs to be able to write to the archive location (and it appears to test if it is possible).
You can
1. Archive your files to a network or local drive...
2. exit GW
3. burn the archive to cd
4. ....
When you want to access the "saved" version of your archive
1. make sure you are out of GW, and know the archive path
2. make a copy of the current archive folder
3. copy the contents of the cd back to the archive folder
4. start gw
Don't know if this gives you what you're after... it does allow you to set a restore point. For 3rd party help check out Nexic's products.
