I have a new Dell PE 2400 server with W2K Server installed. I have the RAID controller setup as RAID5. Do I need to upgrade to dynamic disk or can I let the hardware manage the disks?

Hardware vs. Software RAID

The hardware RAID should take care of it for you; as far as the OS is concerned, the RAID-5 array is just one drive, so it doesn't matter if it is Basic or Dynamic.
