I'm trying to backup a NT4 server running Exchange 5.5 using Backup Exec 8 and an Ecrix VXA tape drive with 33/66Gb media . I have chosen the "Hardware if available otherwise software " compression option in Backup Exec and checked the "enable Hardware Compression" box in the properties of the Ecrix dive .
I then run a scheduled backup overnight . The problem I am having is that after roughly 19Gb being copied onto the tape the tape ejects and and the programme asks for more media . Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong re. the compression ?
