Any ideas as to how one would wipe a Cisco 1760 back to factory default settings, you are unable to log onto the router at all. Is there a hardware option to do that if I have physical access to the device? Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First try a password recovery of the device. The following link explains step by step how to do that.

Once you're in the router's enable mode (designated by the router# or hash prompt), you can issue a command called 'write erase' which nukes the router configuration back to defaults. If you then issue the 'reload' command, it will reset itself and when you next log in you won't be asked for a password.
