Hardware recommendations

Hello,
I am in the process of budgeting for a server farm to run sharepoint 2007. I am planning on deploying an environment consisting of 2 front end web servers, one search server, one index server, and an SQL Server cluster on the backend. I was just wondering if anyone can recommend what size servers and what amount of memory and hard drives they should have. We currently have around 500 users, but will be expanding in the coming years.

Thanks for any thoughts.
