Hi there,

can someone please tell me what a hardware PID is? Is it the same as the UUID found in the BIOS?

Thanks in advance, Glenn

PID usually stands for Product ID and may be the vendor codes for the various cards and things that show up on one section of the start screens.

The PID in the BIOS is usually referring to the CPUID that the Pentium III CPU's had on them to uniquely identify each computer. A lot of people complained about this, because they felt like it was a invasion of privacy, so Award and AMI put an option in the BIOS to disable that CPUID.
