Hello!
I am new in this forum and I hope that you can help me. I have the following problem:
When I apply many security updates for Windows 2003 after system restart I can't boot and the message is that system can't load
<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe and the file is missing or corrupt.
To solve this problem I have extract NTOSKRNL.EXE from installation directory and replace existing file. Then everything is OK
The same message appears when I apply SP 1. Then problem is that when I restore orginal NTOSKRNL.EXE the system won't boot again....
Can it be hardware problem?
My config is:
Athlon 64 3000+ s.939
Asus A8N-E, BIOS rev. 1008
2 x 512 MB Kingmax Tiny BGA Dual Channel DDD 400
160 GB Seagate 7200.7
80 GB Hitachi
ATI X550 256 MB RAM
I checked boot.ini for any changes that Windows made when I applied SP, but there was no problem... Also I set /noexecute=AlwaysOff to turn off DEP, but that didn't helped me...
What should I do?
